Requirements to Become a Pro

Want to become a Royal Palm Pro? Here's what you need.

Basic Requirements:

Age & Identification:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Social Security Number (for background check)
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Location:

  • Must live in or near our service area
  • South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, or Martin County)
  • Within 50 miles of Boca Raton, FL

Background Check:

  • Must pass comprehensive screening
  • Clean criminal record required
  • No violent crimes or sexual offenses
  • Recent serious convictions may disqualify

Equipment & Transportation:

Reliable Transportation:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Insured vehicle
  • Ability to travel to customer locations
  • Some services may require pickup truck

Tools & Equipment:

  • Basic tools for your service category
  • Task-specific equipment
  • Safety gear as needed
  • Professional appearance

Skills & Experience:

While not required for all categories:

  • Relevant experience preferred
  • Some services need specific skills
  • Professional licenses (if applicable)
  • Customer service ability

Service Category Requirements:

Handyman Services:

  • Own comprehensive tool set
  • General repair knowledge
  • Some may need trade license

Furniture Assembly:

  • Basic tool kit
  • Assembly experience helpful
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Moving Services:

  • Pickup truck or large vehicle preferred
  • Heavy lifting ability
  • Moving equipment helpful

Home Cleaning:

  • Own cleaning supplies
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills

Technology:

  • Smartphone (iOS or Android)
  • Internet connection
  • Ability to use our app
  • Communication skills

Financial Requirements:

  • Bank account for deposits
  • Tax information (W-9 form)
  • Ability to set competitive rates

Insurance:

While we provide liability coverage:

  • Personal auto insurance required
  • Additional business insurance recommended
  • Workers comp (if you have employees)
