Everything you need to know about earning money and receiving payments as a Royal Palm Pro.

How You Earn Money

Payment Structure:

Your Rate:

  • You set your hourly rate
  • Can change anytime
  • Shown to clients before booking
  • You control your earnings

Platform Fee:

  • Royal Palm takes 15% service fee
  • You keep 85% of service cost
  • Fee covers: insurance, support, payment processing, platform maintenance

Example:
Service: 2 hours × $50/hour = $100

  • Platform fee (15%): $15
  • Your earnings: $85

Plus Tips:

  • Clients can tip after service
  • You keep 100% of tips
  • No fees deducted
  • Average 10-20% for great service

Complete Earnings Example:

2-hour furniture assembly:

  • Your rate: $50/hour
  • Client charged: $100
  • Platform fee: $15
  • Your base earnings: $85
  • Client tips 15%: $15
  • Total earnings: $100

Payment Timeline

When You're Paid:

1. Service Completed:
- You mark service complete
- Client approves work
- Payment authorized

2. Processing:
- Usually within 24 hours
- Client charged automatically
- Funds transferred to you

3. In Your Account:
- Standard: 1-3 business days
- Instant Payout: Immediate (small fee applies)
- Deposited to linked bank account

Payment Schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday completions: Usually by next business day
  • Friday completions: Usually by Monday
  • Weekend completions: Usually by Tuesday
  • Holidays: May add 1 business day

Setting Up Payments

Link Your Bank Account:

1. Go to Pro Dashboard
2. Click "Banking & Payouts"
3. Select "Add Bank Account"
4. Enter:
- Bank name
- Account number
- Routing number
- Account type (checking/savings)
5. Verify with micro-deposits (2-3 days)
6. Confirm amounts to activate

Requirements:

  • Must be US bank account
  • In your legal name
  • Active and in good standing
  • Checking or savings account

Security:

  • Bank details encrypted
  • PCI-DSS compliant
  • Never shared with clients
  • Secure storage

Tracking Your Earnings

In the Pro App:

Dashboard View:

  • Today's earnings
  • This week's total
  • This month's total
  • Pending payments
  • Completed payments

Detailed Reports:

Earnings Page Shows:

  • Service date
  • Client name
  • Service type
  • Hours worked
  • Your rate
  • Gross amount
  • Platform fee
  • Net earnings
  • Tips received
  • Total payout

Filtering:

  • By date range
  • By service type
  • By payment status
  • By client

Understanding Your Statements

Each Payout Includes:

Service Details:

  • Service date and description
  • Hours worked
  • Your hourly rate

Earnings Breakdown:

  • Subtotal (hours × rate)
  • Platform fee (15%)
  • Your net earnings
  • Tips (if any)
  • Reimbursements (if any)
  • Total payout

Reimbursements & Expenses

What Can Be Reimbursed:

  • Materials/supplies for the service
  • Client-approved purchases
  • Items that become part of finished work
  • Pre-approved by client

What's NOT Reimbursed:

  • Your tools
  • Gas/transportation
  • Parking
  • Food/drinks
  • Phone costs
  • Supplies you keep

How to Add Expenses:

1. During Service:
- Take photo of receipt
- Get client approval in writing
- Note what you purchased

2. When Marking Complete:
- Click "Add Expenses"
- Upload receipt photo
- Enter amount
- Add description
- Submit with service completion

3. Client Approval:
- Client sees expense
- Must approve before payment
- Added to their total
- Included in your payout

Tips for Expenses:

  • Always get approval FIRST
  • Keep receipts
  • Only charge actual cost (or small markup if agreed)
  • Be transparent
  • Document everything

Instant Payout

Get Paid Immediately:

Available for completed services:

  • Wait time: 0 minutes
  • Fee: 1.5% of payout amount
  • Minimum: $1
  • Arrives: Within seconds

When to Use:

  • Need money right away
  • Emergency expense
  • Can't wait for standard deposit
  • Willing to pay small fee

How It Works:

1. Service completed & approved
2. View pending payment
3. Click "Instant Payout"
4. Review fee
5. Confirm
6. Money arrives in seconds

Example:

  • Pending payout: $85
  • Instant fee (1.5%): $1.28
  • You receive: $83.72
  • Arrives: Immediately

Limits:

  • Maximum: $5,000 per transaction
  • No daily limit on number of instant payouts
  • Must have verified bank account

Tips & Gratuities

How Tips Work:

After Service:

  • Client can add tip in app
  • Common amounts: 10-20%
  • Or custom dollar amount
  • You receive 100%

When Tips Arrive:

  • Same time as service payment
  • Included in same deposit
  • Shown separately in statement
  • No fees deducted

Earning More Tips:

  • Excellent work quality
  • Arrive on time
  • Professional demeanor
  • Great communication
  • Go above and beyond
  • Clean up thoroughly
  • Solve problems
  • Make it easy for them

Don't:

  • Ask for tips
  • Expect tips
  • Mention tip amount
  • Be pushy
  • Complain if no tip

Remember: Tips are optional. Earn them through great service.

Tax Information

You're an Independent Contractor:

What This Means:

  • Not an employee
  • Responsible for own taxes
  • Pay quarterly estimated taxes
  • Receive 1099 form from us

Tax Documents:

1099-NEC Form:

  • Mailed by January 31
  • Shows annual earnings
  • Need for tax return
  • Available in app

Your Responsibilities:

  • Track income
  • Save for taxes (25-30% of earnings)
  • Pay quarterly estimates

You can deduct:

Payment Failed:

If Deposit Fails:
