Updating Your Profile

Keep your account information current and accurate.

Accessing Your Profile:

1. Log into your account
2. Click your name in top right
3. Select "Account Settings"
4. Edit any section

What You Can Update:

Personal Information:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Profile photo
  • Notification preferences

Location Settings:

  • Home address
  • Billing address
  • Service area preferences
  • Save multiple addresses

Payment Methods:

  • Add new cards
  • Remove old cards
  • Set default payment
  • Update card details

Communication Preferences:

  • Email notifications
  • SMS alerts
  • Marketing emails
  • Push notifications

How to Update Email:

1. Go to Account Settings
2. Click "Email Address"
3. Enter new email
4. Verify new email
5. Confirm change

Note: You'll need to verify your new email address before it's active.

How to Change Password:

1. Go to Account Settings
2. Click "Password & Security"
3. Enter current password
4. Enter new password
5. Confirm new password
6. Save changes

Password Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • Mix of letters and numbers
  • Include special character (recommended)
  • Not a previously used password

Updating Payment Method:

1. Go to "Payment Methods"
2. Click "Add Payment Method"
3. Enter card details
4. Set as default (optional)
5. Save

To Remove a Payment Method:

  • Cannot remove if it's the only method
  • Cannot remove if pending charges
  • Must have default payment set

Profile Photo:

Add a photo to personalize your account:

  • Click camera icon
  • Upload from device
  • Crop to square
  • Save changes
  • Helps Pros identify you

Notification Preferences:

Control what messages you receive:

Service Notifications:

  • Booking confirmations
  • Service reminders
  • Pro messages
  • Service updates
  • Completion notices

Marketing:

  • Special offers
  • Service recommendations
  • Newsletter
  • Seasonal promotions

Delivery Methods:

  • Email
  • SMS/Text
  • Push notifications
  • In-app alerts

Privacy Settings:

Profile Visibility:

  • Name shown to Pros
  • Location (city level only)
  • Review history
  • Service count

What's Never Shared:

  • Full address (until booking confirmed)
  • Payment information
  • Phone number (until booking confirmed)
  • Email address

Deactivating Your Account:

Need a break?
1. Go to Account Settings
2. Click "Deactivate Account"
3. Select reason (optional)
4. Confirm deactivation

What Happens:

  • Cannot book new services
  • Existing services unaffected
  • Data saved for 90 days
  • Can reactivate anytime
  • Email to reactivate

Deleting Your Account:

Permanent removal:
1. Go to Account Settings
2. Click "Delete Account"
3. Complete final services first
4. Resolve any disputes
5. Confirm deletion

Permanent Effects:

  • All data deleted
  • Cannot be recovered
  • Reviews removed
  • History erased
  • Must create new account to return

Account Security:

Best Practices:

  • Use strong password
  • Don't share login info
  • Log out on shared devices
  • Review account activity
  • Report suspicious activity

Two-Factor Authentication:

Coming soon! Add extra security:

  • SMS verification code
  • Each login requires code
  • Optional but recommended

Suspicious Activity:

If you notice unauthorized:

  • Bookings
  • Messages
  • Profile changes
  • Contact support immediately
  • Change password

Merging Accounts:

Have duplicate accounts?

  • Contact support
  • Provide both email addresses
  • We'll merge history
  • Keep most active account

Account Issues:

Can't access account?

  • Use "Forgot Password"
  • Check spam for reset email
  • Try different email addresses
  • Contact support if stuck
