Understanding Pricing & Estimates

Get a clear understanding of how service pricing works.

How Pricing Works:

Base Rate:

  • Each Pro sets their own hourly rate
  • Rates typically range from $35-$100/hour
  • Higher rates often indicate more experience
  • Rates vary by service type and complexity

Service Duration:

  • You provide an estimated duration when booking
  • Final price based on actual time worked
  • Pros can work beyond estimate with your approval
  • Minimum charge usually 1 hour

Additional Costs:

  • Trust & Support Fee (15%): Platform fee for secure bookings, customer support, and Happiness Pledge
  • Expenses: Materials or supplies (approved by you first)
  • Travel Fee: For services outside Pro's primary service area (rare)

Price Transparency:

Before booking, you'll see:

  • Pro's hourly rate
  • Estimated total cost
  • Any additional fees
  • What's included

Example Pricing:

Furniture Assembly Service:

  • Pro rate: $50/hour
  • Estimated time: 2 hours
  • Base cost: $100
  • Trust & Support Fee: $15
  • Estimated total: $115

If service takes 2.5 hours:

  • Base cost: $125
  • Trust & Support Fee: $18.75
  • Final total: $143.75

Flat Rate vs. Hourly:

Most services are hourly, but some offer flat rates:

  • Benefit: Know exact cost upfront
  • Common for: Simple, predictable services
  • Pro indicates flat rate in their profile

Getting Accurate Estimates:

  • Be detailed in your service description
  • Include photos when helpful
  • Mention if heavy lifting required
  • Note any access challenges
  • List what supplies you have

If Price Exceeds Estimate:

  • Pro must get your approval first
  • You can choose to:
- Approve the extra time
- Complete partial work
- Stop the service
  • No surprises on your bill

Price Negotiation:

  • Prices are set by Pros
  • You can message before booking
  • Discuss scope to fit your budget
  • Or choose a Pro with lower rates
