Before creating your Royal Palm Home Services account, review these requirements and eligibility criteria.

General Requirements

All Account Types:

Age Requirement:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Age verified during registration
  • Minors cannot create accounts
  • No exceptions

Location:

  • Must reside in our service area
  • Currently: South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, Martin counties)
  • Expanding to new areas soon
  • Check availability at royalpalmservices.com

Legal Status:

  • Eligible to work in the United States (Pros only)
  • Valid government-issued ID
  • Social Security Number (Pros only)
  • Legal U.S. resident or valid work authorization

Technology:

  • Access to email
  • Smartphone or computer
  • Internet connection
  • Ability to download mobile app (recommended)

Customer Account Requirements

Basic Information:

  • Personal Details:
  • First and last name
  • Valid email address
  • Working phone number
  • Home address
  • Strong password

  • Verification:
  • Email verification required
  • Phone verification (SMS code)
  • Accept Terms of Service
  • Accept Privacy Policy

  • Payment (Before Booking):
  • Valid credit or debit card
  • Billing address
  • Or digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay)

Optional But Helpful:

  • Profile photo
  • Additional addresses
  • Service preferences
  • Communication preferences

Who Can Be a Customer:

  • Homeowners
  • Renters (with property manager permission if needed)
  • Property managers
  • Business owners
  • Anyone 18+ in service area

Who Cannot Be a Customer:

  • Under 18 years old
  • Outside service area
  • Suspended accounts
  • Banned for violations

Pro Account Requirements

Basic Requirements:

Personal Information:

  • Legal full name (as on ID)
  • Valid email address
  • Phone number (for customer contact)
  • Current home address
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security Number

Age & Legal Status:

  • 18 years or older
  • U.S. citizen or authorized to work
  • Pass background check
  • Valid government-issued photo ID

Background Check Must Pass:

  • Identity verification
  • Criminal history check
  • Sex offender registry
  • Multi-state database search
  • Motor vehicle records (if driving)

Financial Requirements:

  • Valid U.S. bank account
  • In your legal name
  • Checking or savings account
  • Provide routing & account numbers
  • Tax information (W-9 form)

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant experience in services offered
  • Own necessary tools and equipment
  • Professional trade license (if required by law)
  • Ability to perform physical work
  • Customer service skills

Transportation:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Active auto insurance
  • Ability to travel to clients
  • Transportation of tools/equipment

Technology:

  • Smartphone (iOS 12+ or Android 8+)
  • Download Royal Palm Pro app
  • Reliable internet
  • Ability to take/send photos
  • Communication skills

Background Check Details

What We Check:

Criminal History:

  • Felony convictions
  • Misdemeanor convictions
  • Pending charges
  • Warrants
  • Court records

National Databases:

  • FBI database
  • State criminal databases
  • County records
  • Federal records
  • Sex offender registry

Identity Verification:

  • Social Security Number validation
  • Name and address confirmation
  • Date of birth verification
  • Previous addresses

Motor Vehicle Records:

  • Valid license
  • Driving history
  • DUI convictions
  • Suspended licenses
  • Accidents/violations

Timeline:

  • Processing: 5-7 business days
  • Rush available in some cases
  • Delays possible for:
- Recent moves
- Common names
- Multiple states lived
- Name changes

Automatic Disqualifications

Criminal History:

  • Always Disqualified:
  • Murder or manslaughter
  • Sexual offenses
  • Crimes against children
  • Violent felonies
  • Kidnapping or abduction
  • Arson
  • Terrorism-related crimes

  • Recent Serious Crimes:
  • Assault or battery (within 7 years)
  • Burglary or robbery (within 7 years)
  • Theft or fraud (within 7 years)
  • Drug trafficking (within 7 years)
  • Weapons offenses (within 7 years)

Other Disqualifications:

  • False information on application
  • Identity cannot be verified
  • Outside service area
  • Under 18 years old
  • Not legally authorized to work
  • Suspended/banned from previous account

Service-Specific Requirements

Electrical Services:

  • Licensed electrician (required by law)
  • Proof of license
  • Liability insurance
  • Updated certifications

Plumbing Services:

  • Licensed plumber (required by law)
  • Proof of license
  • Liability insurance
  • Certifications

HVAC Services:

  • EPA certification
  • State license
  • Specialized training
  • Proof of qualifications

General Services:

  • No special license required
  • Relevant experience expected
  • Own appropriate tools
  • Liability insurance recommended

Driving Services (Moving, Deliveries):

  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Commercial license (if required)
  • Proper vehicle insurance
  • Vehicle meets requirements

Insurance Requirements

What You Should Have:

Pros Should Have:

  • Personal auto insurance (required)
  • Commercial auto insurance (if using vehicle for business)

Customers:

  • Homeowner's or renter's insurance (recommended)
  • Not required to book services
  • May provide additional protection

Banking & Payment Requirements

For Pros:

Bank Account:

  • Must be U.S. bank
  • In your legal name
  • Checking or savings
  • Active and in good standing
  • Provide routing and account numbers

Verification Process:

  • Micro-deposits sent (2-3 days)
  • Verify amounts to confirm
  • Account activated after verification

Tax Information:

  • Complete W-9 form
  • Provide Social Security Number or EIN
  • For 1099 reporting
  • Required by IRS

For Customers:

Payment Method:

  • Credit card (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover)
  • Debit card with CC logo
  • Apple Pay or Google Pay
  • Required before booking

Age Verification

How We Verify Age:

During Registration:

  • Date of birth required
  • Must calculate to 18+
  • Compared against ID (Pros)

For Pros:

  • Government ID upload
  • Birth date must match application
  • ID must be current (not expired)

Account Eligibility Check

  • Outside service area

  • Can use dorm address

International Residents:

  • Must have U.S. address
  • Valid U.S. payment method

Military Personnel:

Account Limitations

One Account Per Person:

  • Don't create multiple accounts
  • One customer account per email
  • Can have customer AND Pro account (separate emails)
  • Account sharing prohibited

Family Accounts:

  • Each person needs own account
  • Can add family members' addresses
  • Each books their own services
  • Separate payment methods

Consequences of Multiple Accounts:

  • All accounts may be suspended
  • Reviews removed
  • Banned from platform
  • No refunds on services

Reapplying After Denial

If Denied as Pro:

Common Reasons:

  • Failed background check
  • Incomplete application
  • Outside service area
  • Insufficient experience

Can You Reapply?

  • Depends on denial reason
  • Background check failures: Usually permanent
  • Incomplete info: Fix and resubmit
  • Outside area: Wait for expansion
  • Insufficient experience: Gain more and reapply
